Brenda Greggio is a fifteen year old San Diego based Jazz /pianist/ musician/composer/singer.
She is currently a 10th grader, attending The San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts with a major in Jazz studies.
She has been studying classical piano since she was 4, with Ms. Tanya Djangirov. When she turned 8, she began to take jazz piano lessons. She has been studying Jazz for years with Gilbert Castellanos, Kamau Kenyatta, Irving Flores, Philip Jay Lim, Danny Green, Dr. John Reynolds, Robert Dove and Lee Secard.
She is a student of the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory in San Diego and of the Colburn School in Los Angeles.
This year 2020, Brenda has been selected to be part of the international combo Women in Jazz 2020. She played with them at Berklee College of Music in January 2020 and will be playing in Monterey at the 63th Jazz Festival in September, she will perform also with the New Soil Ensemble and again, she will be performing in Monterey, at the Next Gen Jazz Festival in April with her SDSCPA Ensemble.
In 2019, Brenda and her Conservatory Ensemble won 3rd place at Monterey Jazz Next Gen and with her Big Band from SDSCPA was one of the 15 finalists at the famous and ambitious Essentially Ellington Competition - Jazz at Lincoln Center , NYC.
Brenda won the outstanding soloist award at University of Las Vegas Jazz "Essentially Ellington" SW Regional Festival in January 2019.
Brenda plays regularly all around Southern California with several musicians and her bands. She can be seen at Panama 66 in Balboa Park on Wednesday nights.
